ABOUT US
OUR COMMUNITY
The layout of Stanford village shows how it was divided during Apartheid. Different groups were separated into specific areas; white, coloured and black. One part called Die Kop, a black community, sits on a hill about a kilometre from the village and is a sparsely populated settlement.
Life in Die Kop is simple and services like water and electricity are basic. The people there face challenges such as wildfires, strong winds and of course, poverty.
It was at Die Kop where Food 4 Thought established Funimfundo preschool in 2003 and later started the Zizemeleni Agricultural Cooperative on 3 hectares of land surrounding the school.
OUR IMPACT
Food 4 Thought is a household name within the Stanford community. Food 4 Thought assists community in so many diverse areas of their daily lives and we are proud to be that trusted organisation that our community feel comfortable to seek assistance from.
We are very proud of our learners who have gone on to become Prefects/ Head Boys or Girls in high school as well as learners who today are Marine Biologists, Teachers, Policemen and Lawyers.
Food 4 Thought believes that pre-primary education is the groundwork for informed choices in adulthood.
